Two Liebherr offshore cranes RL 2600 (Ram Luffing) and RL-K 2600 (Ram Luffing Knuckle Boom) have been ordered by Yinson Production, a global energy and technology company based in Singapore. The cranes will be installed on the Agogo FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit), operating offshore in the Agogo field, Angola. The cranes are designated for maintenance and component handling in demanding offshore environments.
Yinson Production has selected two Liebherr offshore cranes for its Agogo FPSO project in Angola, where the unit will be deployed in Block 15/06, approximately 180 kilometers off the country’s coast. The Agogo FPSO will support production for Azule Energy, Angola’s largest independent oil and gas producer and a joint venture between BP p.l.c. and Eni S.p.A. This project marks Yinson Production’s first entry into the Angolan market and builds on a previous collaboration with Liebherr initiated in 2016.

Cranes Engineered for Offshore Performance
The RL 2600 and RL-K 2600 cranes each offer a maximum lifting capacity of up to 30 tonnes and an outreach of over 30 meters. The RL series is recognized for its compact design tailored for both fixed and floating offshore installations. The RL-K variant, featuring a foldable knuckle boom, is particularly suited for applications with limited space.
Liebherr has focused on a function-optimized design with high reliability and ease of maintenance. Customer input has shaped many design aspects, including compact dimensions, low overall height, and structural durability. The RL-K 2600, with a rear slewing radius of under 3 meters, is currently the most compact model in its series. Its configuration includes an integrated slewing column that houses the main drive, control systems, and hydraulic components. The crane is designed for flexibility, with customizable boom lengths to meet specific operational needs.
Support Services for Ongoing Operations
Once operational, maintenance and servicing of the cranes will be managed by Liebherr Portugal. Service plans prioritize quick response and expert technical assistance to support ongoing operational reliability.
