°®¶¹´«Ã½allas awards automatic merit scholarships of up to $36,000* per year to qualified incoming freshmen at the time of admission. These scholarships are based on the application for admission and transcripts/GPA, and are completely funded by °®¶¹´«Ã½allas. No additional application is required. Amounts listed below are for students starting classes in fall 2026 or later.

All °®¶¹´«Ã½allas non-need-based scholarships and grants are reserved for full-time undergraduate students seeking their first bachelor’s degree.

Renewal requires an annual minimum cumulative GPA and full-time enrollment status. A student may compete or be eligible for a combination of non-need-based scholarships and grants but, when combined, cannot exceed tuition unless otherwise noted. Academic Scholarships

Amount: Up to $36,000 per year, renewable
At the time of admission, academic scholarships up to $36,000 per year are awarded to qualified freshmen based on either the highest test score (or superscore) or the weighted or non-weighted GPA. Complete your application for admission and send your high school transcripts to discover your merit award.

Transfer Scholarships

The Transfer Scholarship is offered to incoming transfer students based on their cumulative college GPA. The student's application for admission is the student's application for this scholarship. No additional application is necessary.

Visit Grant

Amount: $1,000 toward first-year tuition.
A grant of $1,000 is awarded to prospective students who visit °®¶¹´«Ã½allas; limited to one per student.

 

°®¶¹´«Ã½allas offers full-tuition, competitive scholarships, renewable for all four years, to high school seniors.

Fall 2026 Full-Tuition Transfer Scholarship

Eligibility: One transfer candidate with exceptional academic accomplishments

The °®¶¹´«Ã½ will select one transfer candidate whose academic accomplishments are exceptional and who shows strong promise to contribute meaningfully to the university community. The receipient will be awarded one full-tuition scholarship, renewable for three consecutive years of enrollment.

 

Full-Tuition Scholars of Excellence & Crusader Scholarships

Eligibility: Any incoming full-time undergraduate students seeking their first bachelor's degree

 All applicants are invited to apply for our most prestigious scholarship competition.  Those with the most outstanding academic accomplishments will be invited to compete for full-tuition awards in Scholars of Excellence, and applicants who stand out as offering a unique contribution to the culture and community of the °®¶¹´«Ã½ will compete in the Crusader Scholarship contest, with a creative and expressive component.

 

Full-Tuition Disciplinary Scholarships

Eligibility: Students who show outstanding potential for studying some of the most popular academic disciplines below.


Four Full-Tuition Disciplinary Scholarships are available, one for each discipline. Competitions will be held in Spring 2026 for students who show outstanding potential for studying some of the most popular academic disciplines at the °®¶¹´«Ã½:

Note: While full-tuition scholarships are merit-based (not need-based), we require FAFSA completion (available in December). The first step toward consideration is to . Scholarship applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and earlier applicants, if selected, will get first choice for their competition date. Amount: $1,000 - $5,000 per year
Eligibility: High school seniors and transfer students

This distinguished departmental recognition can be added to any academic scholarship and is renewable for up to eight semesters. Although many applicants may be qualified in multiple subject areas, each student may only apply for one award. Apply online today by clicking the department below. Application deadline is Dec. 1. The last day to complete your application with any additional requirements (an interview, test, or submission of work) is Dec. 15, 2025. 

Departmental scholarships are applied to tuition. Students are not necessarily required to major in the selected major program to receive or maintain the scholarship. More information on application and scholarship renewability criteria can be found on the individual departmental scholarship pages. Each student may apply for up to two awards but may only receive one. A departmental scholarship may not be added on top of a full-tuition scholarship.

DFW Catholic High School Scholarships

Eligibility: High school seniors from select DFW Catholic high schools

High school seniors from the following Catholic high schools are eligible to apply: Bishop Dunne, Bishop Lynch, Cistercian, Cristo Rey Dallas, Nolan Catholic, John Paul II, The Highlands School, Jesuit College Preparatory School, Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Faustina Academy, Chesterton Academy of Fort Worth and Chesterton Academy of Wichita Falls.

Eligibility: High school seniors attending Catholic high schools in the U.S.

One student will be selected from the West, Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Texas (non-DFW) regions. Applicants must attend a Catholic high school. The selected students will exhibit strong commitments to faith, service and achievement.

Parish Matching Scholarship

Open: August 1 
Amount: Matched up to $2,000 Per Year
Eligibility: High School Seniors and current undergraduate students.

Students awarded a scholarship by a parish in any Catholic diocese are eligible for this matching program at °®¶¹´«Ã½. The university will match parish gifts up to, but not exceeding, $2,000 per academic year for a total of eight semesters.

Family Grant

Amount: $5,000 toward tuition 
Deadline: April 1

This grant is for first-year students admitted to °®¶¹´«Ã½allas who have one or more siblings already enrolled in any college or university as a full-time undergraduate student, regardless of their families' income.

National Merit Finalist Scholarship Program

Amount: $2,000 Per Year
Eligibility: Any National Merit Finalist who lists the °®¶¹´«Ã½ as their first choice school with the National Merit Corporation. 

This award is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study. National Merit Finalists with a Corporate-sponsored award or National Merit $2,500 Scholarship are not eligible for this award. For more info, click here.

O'Hara Chemical Sciences Institute Scholarship

Amount: approx. $6,000
Eligibility: High school seniors who plan on attending °®¶¹´«Ã½allas in the coming fall semester.

The O'Hara Chemical Sciences Institute provides new students at the University of Dallas the opportunity to complete two semesters of General Chemistry during the summer before their freshman year. This residential program spans eight weeks in June-August. Accepted students receive a scholarship that covers room, board and tuition for the summer term.

This program is highly recommended for science majors, those interested in our nursing and electrical engineering programs, as well as anyone with pre-health interests. For more info, click here.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Amount: $2,000 Per Year

Homeschool Scholarships

Amount: $5,000 Per Year
Eligibility: High school seniors who were homeschooled for all four years of high school (accredited and non-acredited). 
Opens: August 1
Deadline: March 1

Two awards will be available: one for a student from an accredited homeschool program and another for a student from a self-designed homeschool program. Applicants must have homeschooled for all four years of high school. The selected students will exhibit strong commitments to faith, service and achievement.

FAFSA Early Application Grant

Amount: $1,000
Open: October 1
Deadline: December 15

Each year the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of higher education in diverse areas of study including history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science and English. Applications open November 1.

Submit a short statement explaining your interest in a faithful Catholic education and formation at a Newman Guide Recommended college. This competition is offered to students interested in a Newman Guide university like the °®¶¹´«Ã½. It has expanded to include Catholic high school juniors and seniors this year.
